An Educational Village Rooted in the Desert
The Ein Gedi six-year school, founded in 1977, currently operates in a cluster of older buildings and temporary structures that have been adapted over the years to the institution's changing needs and character. Our proposal seeks to create an architecture that grows out of the desert landscape, respecting the unique geographic and community setting of the educational village at the heart of the kibbutz, facing the Moab Mountains and the Dead Sea. The design aims to bring together community, landscape, sustainability, and progressive approaches to teaching and learning, giving the Ein Gedi Educational Village a distinctive, place-based identity.
